Food Bank Of La Guajira

First Food Bank Of La Guajira

The Prosowa Foundation, with the support of the Diocese of Riohacha and economic contribution of Chevron, completes construction of the first Food Bank of La Guajira.
This bank looks to become the first coordinator of efforts between the private business sector, public sector, schools, and social organizations of the Caribbean and La Guajira with the goal of bringing quality food to those who need it most, improving food security and quality of life for the Wayuu community and La Guajira at large.

The filter donation is carried out through a joint effort with Hilo Sagrado and Corpoguajira. To date, three filter systems have been purchased and their delivery is postponed due to the COVID-19 emergency. Corpoguajira, a governmental entity allied to this project, is committed to installing the filters in the area once the order postponing all activities in the countryside is lifted, so as to protect communities and families of the region.
